In the first verses of her song 'Thank U, Next,' Ariana Grande name-dropped four of her exes: Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Pete Davidson, and Mac Miller. The first three got a Burn Book page about.
Judging by how fast Grande's first lipstick sold out, we can almost be certain that these two shades will fly off the shelves. As always with the M.A.C. Viva Glam campaign, 100 percent of the profits will go toward helping people living with HIV/AIDS. And since Grande has now released four lip products with M.A.C., we wondered: What are her preferences when it comes to wearing lipstick, and more important, how does she put it on? 'There’s no right or wrong way.
I think mixing and concocting and doing whatever you want and playing with the colors is fun,' says Grande. And her key to preventing lipstick smudging is having a good lip liner. 'It doesn't have to match the lipstick,' she says. 'The one that I use when I wear the plum lipstick in my collection is a magenta M.A.C. Lip liner,' she says. 'Even though it's a lot brighter, I use it for both of the lipsticks.' Grande's lipstick inspiration in none other than Marilyn Monroe.
'Have you seen those lips? When she’s acting, she’s like, 'Look at my lips, girl,' says Grande. 'I first saw her when she had a very small part in All About Eve, and she was Marilyn right from the start. She had the shiny lips, she had the doe eyes, and she had the shiny cheeks. She was Marilyn from day one, and the lipstick was always such a huge part of it.' The new Ariana Grande x M.A.C. Lip products will be available on September 8, making them a perfect way to add some pop to the beginning of fall.
